Lopud and Sipan islands have multiple hiking paths and sandy beaches, as well as rich history. If you decide to extend your stay, you can explore the UNESCO World Heritage site of Dubrovnik, just an hour away by ferry, or visit Mljet Island National Park on your departure day.

Day 1: Arrival to Sipan
Your journey starts with a ferry ride to Sipan from Gruz Harbour. we recommend catching the 2:00 PM ferry for the best start, even though there are later options available. Once settled into your accommodation, we’ll suggest some
easy hikes for your first day. For those arriving fashionably late, don’t worry – you can still join the island fun.
Feel free to shape your day—whether unwinding on the beach, enjoying a meal at one of the locally-owned restaurants, or immersing yourself in the local culture. You can discover the communal spirit through the game of bocce ball, a beloved pastime in this area. Witness or join locals gathering each evening for a friendly game, highlighting the warmth that defines Sipan.

Day 2: Lopud Island Heritage
Today we will explore the nearby Lopud Island. Lopud has many beautiful walking routes that take one from the shore to the top of the island and back. This island’s true treasures are its tiny churches and a fort strategically located at one of its highest points. In the past it served as an observation point and was used to protect the island’s safety. Prepare yourself for stunning views of the Elaphiti Archipelago and Mljet Island.

Day 3: Sipan Exploration
Our walking adventure takes us to explore Sipan island. Enjoy the peaceful air filled with the scents of lush Mediterranean flora. The best part of the walk is a stunning view from one of the three highest peaks on the island that offers a beautiful vistas of the island’s valley. Sipan has 34 chapels and churches, each with a tale of history and local life. Walk through olive groves, a big part of Sipan’s character. Fun fact: Sipan is in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the most olive trees for its size.

Day 4: Departure
On the day you leave Sipan, you’ll check out of your place, and your bags will be kept safe. You have the whole day on the beautiful island until the last ferry. You can explore more, take it easy, or join an extra adventure our guides suggest. If you’re interested in history and culture, consider going earlier to Dubrovnik—it’s just a bit over an hour away. It’s a good idea to plan your flights with some extra time for this optional trip to wrap up your time in Sipan smoothly.
